When I was a kid, I used to tell people I was going to be the first female President of the United States, a professional soccer player, an actress, a fashion designer, a chef, and a marine biologist. I technically became 0 of those things, but I think this fact highlights something that you should know about me: I have a lot of interests.

It’s also an odd time to start a blog. If you look at the date, you’ll see that we’re deep into a pandemic. I actually bought this domain back in April, and I’ve probably re-written this first post 20+ times. I’ve told my friends that starting this blog is my “cutting bangs” moment of quarantine; I already had bangs, so it had to be this. This time has actually forced me to think about what makes me happy in my non-quarantine life. Like most people, it’s not sitting on my couch watching Real Housewives 100% of the time.* I miss going and doing.

To that effect, I hope to use this blog as a way to document Looks, Eats and Adventures. I’m starting this in large part to keep me creative in my clothing. I work as a lawyer, and, Shondaland attorneys excluded, lawyers are obviously not known for being the most fashionable folks. So this will be a style roundup that is meant to push me a bit, as well as a place to collect my weekly covets (have you checked out The Covet List yet?).

Eats will be overviews of restaurants and bars (which in COVID-times, means a lot of takeout and recipe reviews). These will just be hot takes (or warm or cold takes) by someone who grew up in two East Coast food capitals (hey Durham, NC). I like what I like and that’s good food.

As far as Adventures, I typically travel with frequency. While I’m fairly New York-bound now, normally my boyfriend Josh and I are constantly up and down the East Coast. Josh is also Australian, so we regularly meet family around the globe. I plan to use the “Adventures” page as a round up of those trips as a bit of a scrapbook, maybe with some tips for y’all along the way.

I hope you enjoy what I have to offer here, but if not that’s okay too. There are plenty of blogs out there for you to discover! If you do like what’s going on here, feel free to drop me a line using the button below. I’d love to hear from you about what you’d like to see here and how we can use this space together!

I’m very much looking forward to this new adventure.

*98% of the time maybe.
